The itinerary sounded so good. Alaska, Asia and South Pacific. Unfortunately we missed the first port in Japan due to weather. A second port was missed because of lack of fuel in the second biggest port in Japan - Yokohama. What an excuse! The ship left the pier as scheduled only to drop anchor 45 min. later where we remained overnight ( no commend or explanation from the bridge ) only to return to the pier the next day to refuel. At times we weren't sure if the captain was actually on board, only heard from him when he had bad news for the passengers. The rest of the top brass seemed to hide and never interacted with passengers. Princess entertainment was of very poor standard. The production shows lacked of talent and stage settings ( another cost cutting by Princess? ). The local folkloric performances were the highlights. Dining - hmmm outdated menu with 3 week rotation in dining room. Food was poorly prepared and waiting staff showed minimal interest and care for passengers, also long waiting times. Complained to the Ex-Chef several times in writing, never heard from him.On board activities were mediocre of cheapest nature( ring tossing, 60 sec. challenge, egg drop, ping pong, trivia etc. ) Shore excursions overpriced and poor group organisation before tour departure. At times the sewer smell near the theater was overwhelming. Musty smell and wet carpet on several decks caused water leaks. Princess Patter at times showed wrong dates, venue and times for activities, as well as the shuttle bus information for the disembarkation port ( Mami not LAX ).

On a positive note - the Horizon Food Court staff was very attentive, friendly and provided service with a smile. The food quality and variety was enjoyable ( theme nights like Ramen, Mongolian and National ) and well received.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BD

The cabin is of standard size with small balcony. After five weeks we had to ask for a spring clean as dust had built up throughout the cabin. Mirrors and fridge door needed a detail clean. Balcony and shower curtain had holes and needed to be replaced.
