We finally decided to visit Hawaii and based on the fact that we enjoy and have cruised many times thought this would be a good way to sample the islands. We had been on the Grand a few years back and despite reviews of it needing an overhaul had read that it had been refurbished in 2016 and chose this ship. While on board we were informed it is going into drydock early 2019. Good thing.

Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly other than a delay upon airpot arrival. Had to wait quite a while for bus transfer pick up. Once at cruise terminal, breezed right through.

As previously stated, the ship was not so Grand. Common areas dingy and worn. All lounges and the theater had worn out seating and one lounge had a leak for the entire 15 days.

Clean but worn. Badly in need of overhaul. Furniture, carpet and sheets worn and in some cases torn. Bathroom worn, and balcony severely weathered and rusted.
