We chose this cruise because of the stops it had. We also reviewed separate excursions to book to enhance our stops. We booked 2 tours with ItalyTours.eu 1 for Pompeii, Sorrento and Positano in Italy and then another one for the Best of the Franch Riveria in Cannes France. The tour in Italy was wonderful! What a fabulous tour!! Worth every penny! The driver was waiting for us as soon as we walked off the ship. We waited for a few people and off we went! We traveled in a nice small Mercedes van. The driver, Gianluca, spoke great English and was an excellent driver! We felt safe and relaxed the entire day. Pompeii was really something to see. I didn't know that much about it but once we arrived there and Gianluca met our walking tour guide Sabrina, we started off on our journey. Sabina really focused on providing us with the exact history of this city and truly painted a picture of what life was like before the afternoon on Aug 24 79BC. The brothel's were very interesting as there is a section of them that was preserved and still has the actual stone beds there. Sabina's knowledge was superb!

After Pompeii we drove to Sorrento. Now we had done our homework beforehand as we knew this would most likely be our lunch stop. We found Azz! and all the positive reviews so we invited a few people from our group to join us for lunch. The place was easy to find. It was hands down the best Italian food I have ever had! We still had time to shop and get gelato! After our break in Sorrento we were off to the amazing sights of the Almafi coast! Gianluca stopped at a few different points for picture taking etc It was a wonderful day and I would definitely like to spend more time in Sorrento the next time we are back in Italy!

Then we met Yannick in Cannes and he took us all around Nice, Cannes, Monoco, Monte Carlo and Eze. This tour was amazing as well! The views from Almafi coast were just breath taking! yannick spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable of the history of each area we visited and played almost a trivia game with us! He made it fun!

Cabin Review

Inside

Cabin IE

the cabin was your standard inside cabin. I don't like the way they have the toilet and shower separated on this ship and the lighting is terrible. We organized the meet n mingle with the ship's exe officers and the hotel director Nelson advised us that the ship is scheduled to go into dry dock in 2020 and they are already planning on improving the lighting issues.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

I really didn't enjoy barcelona

Rome (Civitavecchia)

It was a pain getting to Rome. Since the ship docks 1.5 hours away, you have to take a bus to the train station and then take the train into Rome which take almost 1.5 hours. The day we were in Rome, the Pope had just had mass so the Vatican was packed. St Peter's was closed until 1pm. The line was 2 miles long to enter so unfortunately we were not able to experience it. This obviously wasn't NCL's fault. If we did this tour again, we would do something right at port or not even bother to get off the ship.

Florence (Livorno)

Florence is a MUST when in Italy. We had been there before so we walked around, shopped and ate lunch. it was nice using the bus as transportation and then having your own free time to explore the area.

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

We just walked into town and shopped.
