I found a great discount deal on a suite on the Norwegian Star so I booked it. It was a great experience to be in a suite! Special attention from the staff and great benefits. Loved it! Shows on the ship were great! Food was good. Versailles Main Dining room was the only place on the ship that we did NOT enjoy. Slow service and unfriendly staff. Other restaurants and bars were good.

Did NOT enjoy the ports visited. Mykonos and Santorini were both "let-downs". :( They are just the typical tourist traps.

Corfu, Greece was dirty. Trash collectors must have been on strike because the trash bins were over-flowing. Nasty! Smelly! We loved Kotor, Montenegro. It was beautiful cruising into the bay. Dubrovnic was beautiful. But not enough time in port to explore everything.

Family Suite

Cabin SJ

This was our first time to travel in a suite... AND IT WAS FANTASTIC!

The room was sound-proof. We never heard any other passengers or next door noise or TV. We occasionally hear noise from above which was the jogging track, I think. But it only happened on a few days and was only for a few seconds. The benefits of a suite included priority dining, shows and tendering to the ports. We loved it. The only down-fall was that our suite did NOT have a balcony. Instead, it had a wall of windows. We enjoy sitting our on a balcony. We had a huge bathroom with a separate shower and bathtub. We do NOT like taking baths in a tub so that was useless, except to wash our clothes in. The closet was ok. The wooden hangers were very noisy and hit the closet walls . That was irritating. And bathroom door had to be closed to open part of the closet doors. The afternoon snacks that were left in our room were always a pleasant surprise.

Port Reviews

Kotor

Beautiful view while cruising into the bay to the port. Lovely port. This was a tender port but we had priority tendering so we got to go first. When we tendered back to the boat around 2:30 in the afternoon, passengers were still in line to get OFF the boat! WOW! Glad we had priority at that port, otherwise we would have been furious that it was taking so long.

Santorini

Went by bus to Oia. Long bus ride to a small town. It was okay. Nothing spectacular.

Corfu

Corfu was filthy! trash everywhere. Nothing spectacular to see.

Dubrovnik

Went to Old Town. Beautiful! Only bad thing was that we were only there til noon so we didn't have enough time to see everything.
