I had been wanting to try an oasis class ship, and I heard marvelous things about this particular ship. My rating of 3 is purely based on my own experience. I can see this ship being a great option for larger groups, as it has a lot of activities to offer. Pros: you can usually always find something to do, the neighborhoods are well done, the ship is clean for the most part, many dining options, the solarium was very nice, VOOM was awesome, the aqua show was great. Cons: it was rather challenging making friends just because I rarely saw people more than once, the thermal suite is too small to accommodate the capacity, the buffet layout seems poorly done (people constantly bumping into one another or only half of the buffet being open...literally the Hunger Games), many additional charges for things onboard, sometimes the crew seemed annoyed or exhausted (which is almost understandable given the number of passengers). Bottom line, I think a group traveling on this ship could have a great time. I think it just wasn’t the best fit for me, but I am glad I tried it.
I chose this cabin because I thought it would be quiet...far from main traffic areas and no public areas above the room. I was not aware that there is a kitchen/cleaning room entrance right next to my cabin. I could hear dishes being wheeled in/out on a cart multiple times. It was quite loud.
I walked around and took pictures. Loved old San Juan.
It seemed like a typical cruise line island. It’s well kept and offers activities for everyone. I walked around taking photos and then headed back to take advantage of an emptier ship.
