I took this cruise with my wife to celebrate my 47th birthday. We have been on two prior Carnival cruises Vista and Splendor. Are embarkation day was an adventure. It was torrential rain and fog and we got lost in the port trying to find the ship and parking garage. We decided to park in the uncovered parking lot nearest the ship($15 per day). We left are two bags with the curbside attendant and quickly passed through the terminal onto the ship. Our room was not ready until 1:30pm so we found a table and ate at the lido buffet. It was hectic as all 1st days of cruises are so be prepared. The buffet was much better than the last cruise on the Vista. I found the food on the Vista to be almost inedible but the Conquest had a very good selection and a great dessert station. We waited until are room was ready and went down to the 6th floor aft to check it out. The room was spotless and the balcony in the room we stayed in was 50% larger than the other balconies for the same price. Our stateroom steward "Jose" from the Philippines was excellent and very friendly to us. He always greeted us with a smile and remembered our names. My wife's bag arrived at the room around 2:30pm. I waited and waited for hours for my bag to arrive but I was told not to worry because the heavy rain had delayed our departure and they were still unloading bags onto the ship. I didn't start panicking until around 6pm and my bag still had not arrived to my cabin. I was told to go down to guest services and report my bag missing. I walked to the end of the ship and down to deck 3 guest services to be greeted by over 50 people standing in line waiting. After waiting over 20 minutes in the line an employee asked if anyone in the line was missing a bag and several people spoke up and said yes. He brought all of us to a room filled with bags that the tags had fallen off or were unreadable because of the heavy rain. I located my bag but they did not have anyone to carry up to my room so I took it with me and lugged it up to my cabin. The whole situation could have been handled better as there was never any announcements made about these bags in the room without tags. Anyway, after that experience the trip improved significantly. The food in the MDR was very good and the steakhouse is well worth the $35 per person extra for the experience. The staff were very friendly and always remembered our names. The entertainment was ok but I was not expecting a Broadway play and my wife enjoyed it so it was fine. We loved the casino on this ship but you have to be able to handle the smoke. The shore excursion in Nassau was a great time. We went on the "Thriller" boat ride and be prepared to be drenched if you go bring your bathing suit to change out off after. They provide complimentary lockers for your items to stay dry. Overall the Conquest was a very good time and I would recommend her I you like fun.
