Chose this cruise to take some members of our family, who have never been, to see Alaska. The ship has been refitted to accommodate 121 more high end cabins and now is crowded. Our balcony cabin, C 520, was clean and somewhat adequate but the shower was impossibly small with a fixed shower head. There were two controls, one for heat and one for the actual water flow. We had lots of trouble with either being scalded or frozen as the temp fluctuated when anyone else on the ship used their showers, etc. The gym was appalling. It's on the sixth floor with no windows and very limited equipment that needs to be replaced. The food was mediocre. The lobster served on one night was inedible [salty and old, not fresh]. We made our own private shore excursion reservations through other sources. We suggest you do the same via the internet. The entertainment was okay with one production show being just dreadful! Our cabin steward was mostly absent. He did clean our room but never provided ice which we requested daily with the exception of one time. The rest of the ship's staff was excellent with the exception of the Captain's Circle hostess. She was overbearing and rude! No, we will never sail on this ship again. We have sailed many times on Princess since sailing on the original Pacific Princess and have loved the line so we are not cruise beginners. Have also sailed on Carnival, Holland America, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. This was our first less than wonderful Princess experience.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BE

Very small compared to previous balcony rooms on Princess. Bathroom shower was almost unusable as it was so small and with a fixed shower head. This ship has been refitted to accommodate 121 MORE cabins.
