We chose this cruise because my husband likes the warm weather of southern Europe and I prefer the cooler northern climes. This cruise had something for both of us and took us places we had never been before. It was very interesting to have it themed to the explorers of the middle ages--we really enjoyed the lectures and enrichment activities. The shore excursions were so incredibly well organized--small groups, no waiting, comfortable buses (mostly) and knowledgeable local guides.

I would prefer throwing my money off the veranda into the sea to gambling in a casino so the lack of casinos was absolutely no loss to me. The entertainment was nice--the performers were very good. The production values weren't Vegas, but, again, that is not why we chose this trip. We had fun at the performances we chose to attend. And, while I love children, I enjoy the quieter, slower, rather genteel travel opportunity to swimming pools and other venues full of screaming, poorly supervised kiddos. Call me crabby!

The spa was great--so relaxing it was hard to walk back to our stateroom!

Cabin Review

Cabin Deluxe Veranda

Our cabin was lovely. So nice to have comfortable chairs to sit in and not have to perch on the bed all the time. The deck was wonderful and, if the bathroom had fit in my suitcase, I'd have taken it home with me. Sleek, spacious, and spotless--terrific--the shower head was amazing. Our steward was super attentive, knew our names within minutes and did a lovely job of making our cabin welcoming each time we returned. We were right next to the elevator, which our ticketing agent thought may be something of an issue, but it was great--we never heard a peep from the halls or any other cabin. Finally our central location seemed to keep our sailing smooth, even on our one "rough" at sea day.
