We're experienced cruisers that chose this cruise for the ports and the ship. The ports and excursions were excellent and the ship did not disappoint. We were travelling with two other couples (siblings and spouses) and spent all of our dinners and most of our excursions together. The main thing to consider with the Mediterranean cruises is that they are not "relaxing" like a Caribbean cruise might be. The two at-sea days were welcomed and needed. . Embarkation was easy and quick, even though our late flight caused us to miss our tour of Rome. .RC reimbursed us for missing this excursion. We used a RC-excursion at each port and we thoroughly enjoyed each one, even though there was quite a bit of walking (3-5 miles). Windjammer for breakfast was good with made-to-order omelets. Dinner was spent at the MDR which had good selections (mostly) and great service. We used the MyTime Dining and made reservations for each night prior to embarkation. Our service was so good the first night, we asked for & received the same table each night. Servers were Ravindra & Vedran. We did try specialty restaurants for two nights - one at Chops, which was excellent and one at Giovanni's, which was a real disappointment based on other RC ship's experience. Our room was was a Spacious Balcony (9054), and everything was nice and clean. Our cabin steward was great, as has always been our experience. The room, itself, was nothing special but in a convenient (central) location on the ship. As for entertainment, the Centrum always had good live music playing, but we were usually too tired from our excursions to do much more than spend a little casino time before bed. One show we attended was a Celine Dion impersonator that was very good. Disembarkation was necessarily early but smooth.

  • The Plaka Walking Tour
We meant to take the Acropolis tour, but was not too upset since we had visit the Acropolis on a past cruise. We did get some good views of the Acropolis and Mars Hill as well as the Old Olympic Stadium. The Plaka tour was a lot of walking.

  • Mykonos
A walking tour through the city to a bus that took us to a farm. They served us their wines(white/red/sweet) along with meets, cheese and olives from their farm. A great trip.

  • Sorrento
We had previously visited Naples and Pompeii, so we took a bus tour to Sorrento, which is a beautiful city along the Amalfi Coast with orange and lemon tree-lined streets. After taking 90 minutes to tour on our own, we drove to a restaurant to make and eat our own Neapolitan pizza. A really fun experience - would have been great with kids.

  • Lindos Walking Tour
A walking tour of the old town of Lindos which included a walk up to the ruins. A fascinating tour, but a lot of extreme walking.

  • Oia Wine Tasting
A driving tour of Oia and Fira, with some walking on your own through Oia. Breathtaking views! The wine tasting was great, as well, with plenty of white, red, and sweet wine.
