I, along with my wife and my 18 year old niece, escaped winter in New York and New Jersey to spend 7 mostly glorious days aboard Celebrity Summit sailing out of San Juan.

We flew to San Juan on the morning of the cruise and arrived at the pier about 3:45 PM after a fairly long wait for bags. Embarkation was a snap and we were in our Concierge Class cabin by 4 and at the Mast Bar on Deck 11 by 4:15. The ship was beautifully maintained and our cabin was perfect for 3 with a nice little veranda that my niece made plenty of use out of. Our stateroom attendant, Selvino and his assistant, Domingues, were excellent throughout the cruise taking care of all of our needs, even before we asked. They kept our cabin impeccable for the entire cruise and always had a friendly greeting for us whenever we were in their presence.

Our waiter, Ida Bagus, and his assistant, Umesh were equally outstanding and friendly, both exhibiting good cheer and patience with one finicky fellow diner that we meet on the first day (lovely lady, but hard to feed). The food was outstanding with plenty of choices for the adventurous (Buffalo Style frog legs) and not so adventurous (chicken breast, broiled salmon). The always available side of the menu came in handy when we were not so adventurous. The seafood platter on the second formal night was wonderful (I had a second 1/2 lobster tails along with the shrimp and scallops.)According to my wife, the turkey parmesan that she had ordered was the winner of the trip. Breakfast at the buffet was good and lunch was usually from the grill (the hamburgers were good) or the pizzeria. For dessert after lunch, the ice cream and frozen yogurt were very good, but the hot chocolate syrup was definitely a winner. It was made fresh and very rich.

Cabin Review

Cabin CC

Cabin 9101, a Concierge Class cabin on deck 9 near the midship elevators, was a very nice, average size cabin with a sofabed (about the size of a small loveseat) that was very comfortable (as was the main bed). The balcony was very nice and wasn't bothered by smoke as Celebrity does not allow smoking in the staterooms or on the balcony. The cabin was very nice and is a pefect size for two, but slightly cozy for 3.
