Oasis is an amazing ship and this is the 2nd time we’ve been on it. This time seemed a little more crowded but still managed to feel like there were places to relax and escape the crowds. Embarkation was a breeze, usually we arrive early and are one of the first on but this day we were running a little behind from our air BNB in Orlando, so boarding had started. Even with the crowds it was a seemingly short process with lots of happy caring people along the way. We had some bad service in the dinning room the first night but the staff was amazing and fixed it very quickly and every other night was delicious, quick and friendly. We also loved the specialty restaurants Giovanni’s and Sabor. Giovanni’s was so much delicious italian food with amazing service. Our lunch at Sabor was amazing as well with some delicious specialty margaritas. (Maybe a little too many :P) The casino, as on every ship I’ve been, is a place i’d Like to go but can’t deal with due to the excessive smoke smell. This time seemed worse than others and the smell was moving out through other areas of the deck. We had a wonderful stateroom attendant, Andy and were treated to amazing towel animals. On the first night of the cruise we were going to see Cats the musical but it was canceled due to technical issues with the music. The situation was delt with well and a substitute was found for an impromptu performance by the pub singer Tommy Green Jr. It ended up being one of my favourite shows on the cruise. Definitely check him out if he’s still there. We also finally got to see cats on the last night and it was well worth the wait. I’m not a huge fan of the musical but the performances were beyond expectations so it did not matter and I was entirely entertained. I find with every cruise the photos are getting more expensive and worse quality, this time we had blurry photos, discoloured, or strangely lit photos. I also dislike that there is no way to change photo size or take off boarders. Another thing I was disappointed in was how hard it was to find entertainment that was lgbtq inclusive. Some of the worst parts being the love and marriage game show, the quest and the comedy shows. Now a joke at the expense of anyone is fun but I find that lgbtq people are always the butt of the joke which makes my fiancé and I uncomfortable with being a couple on the ship. I do not by any means think the company RCCL is homophobic or against the lgbtq community but it would be nice to be included here and there. Now don’t get my review wrong, the ship was amazing, the service too. Across the board crew members go above and beyond on RCCL and the experience was amazing.

Cabin Review

Central Park View Stateroom

Cabin CV

I always love this cabin, lots of light and still a little cheaper than an ocean view. Much better than a promenade room, quieter and brighter. The only sound we heard was from Giovanni’s below singing happy birthday, that was once early in the evening when we stopped by the room and we just thought it was hilarious. The room also feels very large with the window seat.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Stayed in a vacation home AirBNB with my mother father and Fiancé. Affordable with a large property with a small water park. We went to universal and of course it was great.

St. Maarten

We took the water taxi to the beautiful downtown and beach area. Taxi was 7 per person for a use for the day to and from the ship. The damage from the hurricane is apparent but did not change the experience too much, a lovely island.

San Juan

San Juan is one of my favourite ports, it feels like a European city with small adorable streets, shops and restaurants. I could always spend more time here. We went to the fort and the city wall and wandered the streets of old San Juan. Everything walk able (but lots of hills). The hurricane seems to have done damage but it’s very hard to find and has been cleaned up very well.

Labadee

Went to the beach and wandered Labadee. The far right area we went, wasn’t too crowded and was very close to food, drink and restrooms. The top left of the area is dragons breath which is a very beautiful rock formation you can walk out to.
