Fabulous itinerary. Booked the cruise because Rock of Gibraltar topped my husband's bucket list. Gib didn't disappoint with great homegrown guide Tommy of Inside-Our Rock Tours delivering the goods. My fave turned out to be Malta. Lounging on our balcony and cruising into port that morning at sunrise was akin to drifting into a dreamlike movie set. Unforgettable! Smooth, timely embarkation and disembarkation. The ship is 20 years old, so not pristine. But for us it was right-sized with 2,000 passengers, never seeming over-crowded. More like a stately grandame than a hot new thing with all the bells and whistles. My husband did complain about the excruciating slow internet, but was pleased with the personnel in the Internet Café. Many of the ship personnel did not speak English, but Chardonnay translates well. The entertainment was hit and miss. Jocka & Maria and Lily-Jane Young were spectacular. We enjoyed NCL freestyling food service. Ate breakfast at Raffles before heading out onshore. Dinner at Windows or The Garden. Excellent service. If the 5-star cuisine is essential for your cruise, NCL Spirit's complimentary restaurants may not be your cup of tea; but for us no complaints. We'd definitely choose NCL again, if we had the cash.
Dreamy balcony. Great water pressure. Only a few hours one evening without hot water. Our NCL consultant recommended Level 10 as the quietest. Passengers well-behaved. We heard little slamming of doors or loud rowdies. Really enjoyed aft-central location. Just a hop, skip and jump to Raffles for breakfast. Close to the aft terrace bar for an enchanting Sail-Away. I tend to get seasick, but all was well with this cabin.
Booked online freetourvalencia.com. Tour Guide Valentina engaging, knowledgeable and spoke loud enough for all to hear. You tip at end of tour what you think it was worth.
