My husband and I chose Splendor for a Mexican Riviera cruise because the port of Long Beach is conveniently located 200 miles from our house. We have cruised on Carnival with our kids many times on the short Baja cruises, but when it is just the two of us, we opt for more upscale cruise lines and destinations. We upgraded to a Cloud 9 Spa Suite and off we went without a lot of expectation.

Getting on the ship was a breeze, the easiest it has ever been for us. Our room was ready early so we went straight there and unpacked. The suite was large and beautiful. There were so many storage areas that some drawers and cabinets were left empty. We had reservations the first night at Pinacle Steak House for dinner, and the food and wine were delicious. We received half off of a nice bottle of Sonoma wine because we dined on the first night.

Honestly, we were not super excited to dine in the main dining room, Golden Pearl, but on the third night we went there and, oh my goodness, the head matradee, Amith, made our experience throughout the week incredible! He accommodated every request above and beyond our expectation. The food was very good, but the service was outstanding! All of the serving staff worked so hard and did such a good job to make our time in the dining room special.

Loved the cabin and all of the extra space! Also loved the spa amenities. It was a well-worth-it splurge and I hope to do it again on our next cruise!
