My husband's family has been cruising over Christmas week for the past 22 years. This was my third holiday cruise with them. We UNANIMOUSLY agreed that the Solstice was the most beautiful ship we'd been on! We had an amazing week aboard what we now think is the best class of ship on the high seas.

Embarkation was a breeze for our family of 9 (we range in age from 27-91.) When we arrived at our cabins, we were floored by how beautiful they were!! The showers were actually decent sized with a shaving stool inside! No more sticking your legs out of the shower to shave on the toilet! We loved that all of our balconies (we had five) could be opened so we could freely walk between our cabins. Our cabin placement was superb - we were on the 6th deck, just outside the midship elevators, which also happened to be near the internet cafe. We had a wonderful ship steward, who kept our rooms spotless and seemed to have a sixth sense as to when we left our cabin.

The ship is, quite simply, stunning. The attention to detail is amazing. People are constantly cleaning. Even the pool deck managed to stay fairly clean. There are so many nooks and crannies in the ship that we were discovering new places right up until our last moments.

GREAT, quiet location. Close to main elevators (but you don't hear them as they are on the other side of a wall). Also very close to internet cafe. Perfect for people who can't walk very far as the elevators take you directly to the dining room or cafe.
