The cruise was perfect in that it got us out of the cold and gave us 10 days in the warmth and sunshine of the Caribbean. The service was great, the staterooms beautiful and well taken care of. There was nothing that we wanted that we couldn't get. The entertainment was great. Loved the Beatles show! Food at all venues was delicious and there was lots of variety. That said, I felt that the included excursions were lacking. They were well organized in terms of getting us off hte ship and then we were handed off to professional tour guides at each location. That is when it became a hit and miss operation.
In Santa Marta our tour guide was all about how great their fruits were and stopped off at a stand to get everyone a banana. At the museum and at the church he said nothing other than you have 10 minutes in here to look around.
In Santo Domingo 5 Viking tour groups were crammed into a building at the same time where you couldn't see anything or move around. The guid ether did talk about the location but the noise level was so high we have no idea what he said.
Perfect. Chris kept ice in the bucket and we had everything we needed and more.
Spent the day on the beach. Perfect!
