Great trip to New Zealand on the Solstice. Found this to be a lovely ship with a great atmosphere. Cabin and food facilities were of a high standard and we had anytime dining but were in the same area every night and it was really nice to get to know the 3 people serving us all the time and hear of their family life. The little food section at the inside pool with its healthy options was always a great spot for lunch and sometimes breakfast. The shows on this ship were really enjoyable and I also did a behind the scenes tour of the ship which was interesting but a little overpriced. We had the classic drinks package which was apart of our deal and did save us a considerable amount. I did find day entertainment was not that varied and a bit slow. Shore excursions were all booked off the ship so this also saved us a fair amount and they were on mini buses and all quite good.

Captain Tasos and his crew were very visible around the ship and the Captains PA comments everyday were always looked forward to because of his dry sense of humour. Captain Tasos also did a talk on the building of the Solstice which I found very interesting. I used the gym most days and found this to be very good. Also did a few of the paid classes like zumba and spin bike.

The hot rock massage I had was also very nice.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 1A

Cabin 1A

Cabin was adequate. Wardrobe door stuck. Loved the bathroom bigger than I have had previously. Our balcony was hugh could of had a party out there. Near the lifts towards the front of ship. TV wasn't that great kept freezing and not much on. Did find the free movies towards the end when we had bad weather and ended up watching a few of them.
