I chose this cruise because it was a two week cruise, which is what I wanted. I booked it for my brother and I, who have both recently experienced the loss of our spouses. I booked two staterooms with balconies and it was wonderful.
EXCEPT for the first two days. Upon arrival in the Stateroom I noticed it was "cold" but was told there were problems with the heating system and that they were working on it, so the first night was a bit chilly since we were leaving out of Baltimore. On the second night, Monday a lot of people regained their heat but my room was still extremely cold. I called "Guest Services" and advised them and they send a young lady to my room with a small machine which she placed on the bed for a few minutes to calculate the temperature of the room which turned out to be 66 degrees. I asked her when it would be done and she couldn't give me a definite answer.....BUT DID SAY...."It would be better if you had someone to share your BODY HEAT so you could keep warm". I was stunned and told her I was a recent widow. I found that remark to be completely out of line. The next day I went down to Guest Services and advised them of my experience upon which two senior officers came to interview me. I advised them of what happened and they should hold a seminar of "what not to say to a customer and that the statement was completely out of line". Naturally, they said it would be taken care of and the next day when I asked for a copy of my bill, I saw that they had taken $88+ off for two days (for the cold room).
Otherwise, this was an awesome Caribbean cruise to all the islands and my brother's first cruise and he was delighted. I had booked two rooms on the 4th floor with balconies which had two chairs and one table each.
Both rooms had a walk on balcony with two chairs and a table.
I have been on previous Carnival cruises with my husband before he passed away, so it would have been under the name of Richard L. Smith, Lutherville, MD 21093
