We haven't been on Princess for about two but have been travelling on other cruise companies. Princess appears to have dropped their standards and were disappointing. Their food and service standards are wanting and need to pick up their game. As stated before standards appear to be slipping, e.g.Captains Circle Club staff member appeared arrogant and unhelpful, when asked about the member levels he said if people don't know them by now there is something wrong and he didn't want to hear anything that the competition is up to and would block his ears, most strange and not very smart, a good way to go out of business. Lucky he is not in a position of influence and with an attitude like that probably won't get one. The person arranging seating positions at the entrance to Donatello's was not very good, his greeting was just about always accompanied with a big sigh as if it was all too hard and difficult. And as for the captain never saw him and a lot of other passengers commented about his non appearance. The tours are an absolute rip-off. The Noumea kayak trip was a joke with the tour leader paddling off and leaving elderly people to their own means of getting into the kayak. The tour was supposed to be scenic, the Yarra would be far more scenic. The Luganville tour to the Blue Hole was supposed to be strenuous, well we got into the boats and weren't even allowed to paddle ourselves. The trips are better organised once you arrive and a lot cheaper.
The room was basic although the bed was very comfortable. The ships needs a massive refurbishment, it is looking very tried like a lot of the crew. The captain was not seen during the cruise which is most unusual. We didn't care but a lot of other people did comment and the other much mentioned negative comment apart from the ship's condition was the happy hour has been deleted which annoyed a lot of other passengers.
