Loved my last and first Silversea cruise 5 years ago and was hoping my second one would be as wonderful----it was not. For some stupid reason the company and captain decided to replace some of the pool deck while at sea on the cruise (there was no immediate need to fix or replace and after they almost finished---it didn't look much different than before). It was EXTREMELY disrupted with 1/4 of the deck closed in certain areas the entire cruise. Noise of electric sanders, hammers, construction workers talking was VERY Loud. The noise at certain times would clear out the entire level of people using the pool to go to another deck or back to their cabin. There were limited pool deck lounge chairs due to this the entire cruise. They closed the entire pool deck the last evening of the cruise so they could clean the entire pool deck area getting ready for a company that reserved the ship for a cruise starting the next day, The pool and jacuzzis were closed along with the Steak Rock Grill the last night---ridiculous!!! The crew and many staff supervisors had no idea why this construction was going on and all said it should have been done when the ship was to get refurbished very very soon. The crew were getting hundreds of complaints---and it took to about 4/5 of the cruise while this was going on to the ship to apologize for all the inconveniences---and offered some future cruise credit. No reason this should have been going on during the cruise. I sent pictures and video of all of this on many of the days to Silversea from my travel agent and never personally heard back from them.

Oliver the bartender was the best bartender/staff member I've ever seen on 46 cruises---he was also the best entertainer on the ship. The luxury catamaran excursion in St. Lucia was absolutely Wonderful. The rum distillery excursion in Grenada was the worst excursion I've ever been on. Would have been a fantastic cruise if it wasn't for the construction going on at the pool deck every single day of the cruise.

Cabin Review

Silver Suite

Suite and Butler were great. Tons of room. Separate bedroom was great! Some of the carpet baseboards needed to be glued back on.
