This is our second cruise in a year on this same ship. We specifically booked the same ship and upgraded to the Aqua Class experience out of the shoot hoping to experience the best it had to offer.
While there are highlights to brag about including the Martini Bar and staff, Tuscon Grill and the staff and the select shining stars who tried to go above and beyond, the overall feel of the experience was nothing like the 'premier' stature that Celebrity presents about the Aqua Class. The Blu Restaurant Experience and Spa amenities were nothing premium and in fact could, in the case of the spa, been purchased into by anyone on the boat for a mere $85.
Through no credit to Celebrity, my constant watch on inventory scored us an upgraded location (same price) at the aft of the ship in one of the coveted five locations on back. Despite some limitations on privacy, the location is indeed spectacular and worth seeking as it is not any higher than other A1 Port or Starboard locations.
This aft facing cabin features a great view and large deck, overlooking the aft bar area which was never a hindrance to our enjoyment. While its end location does diminish some of the privacy other balconies might enjoy, people were often surprised down below when we wished them a good morning, showing that we was them more than they did us.
The cabin overall is similar to other balcony accommodations, with the minor 'feature' of heated mirrors in the bathroom. While the steam free mirror saved us a towel stroke, the heat generated behind the mirror turned the bathroom sauna like if you didn't leave the door ajar.
The door was sticky, there were rust spots on the outside and needed maintenance across the cabin. We did hear the ship was going into dry dock in 2018 for a full refurbishment (down to to the shell) which is much needed.
