We had been on our first cruise on the Azamara Journey the previous year and loved it. The Viking ships were a little larger (900/630 passengers). The extra space on the Sky was taken up by the communal areas, all light wood and stainless steel and glass, very Scandinavian. Somehow it seemed more spacious than the Journey and quite beautifully done. There was also a string trio playing in the Atrim which added to the relaxed atmosphere
The food was excellent, particularly the buffet with the daily sushi bar. I wasn't particularly impressed with the Italian speciality restaurant, and there were queues for the main restaurant, but with the buffet so good, who cares. Wine was decent and plentiful with a choice of at least two reds and two whites. High tea served at 4 pm was amazing, so much choice, but we did have to ask for an extra tea bag!
Service was exceptional, very friendly and efficient. Amazing really as this was only the ship's third cruise, so well done all.
Penthouse veranda. Lovely light wood, very comfy bed. Plenty of room and too much storage, yes too much, we had several drawers and cupboards empty! USB charging points by the bed. Roomy shower room, walk in shower no messy shower curtain!, No tub. Mini bar topped up daily with four miniatures. Roomy balcony, very hard to fault the cabin really.
