Our 10th cruise on Norwegian started out on the wrong foot. Embarkation was delayed over two hours due to an annual Coast Guard inspection. The over 4,000 passengers were, for the most part, forced to stand awaiting clearance to board and many were not even able to get into the terminal because of overcrowding. They stood outside on a very warm New York day. No water was offered to anyone I could see and I also could not see Norwegian staff offering assistance to the elderly or families with small children.

At our first stop, Port Canaveral, FL, there was a steady rain all day. The announcements for disembarkation directed us to either deck 7 or deck 4. We left our cabin and tried to get down to deck 4 by using the stairs. Signs were erected pointing us down therefore indicating we were going in the right direction. We got to deck 5 and found no further access to get down to deck 4! OK, so we then went up to deck 7. Again we found signs directing us to a point where the door was in fact closed! We tried to walk down to deck 4 again to no avail. There were no crew present anywhere to direct us to the proper exit. Very poor service!

The second stop was at Norwegian's private island, Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas, where we arrived at about 10:00 AM. It is only accessible by tender. The morning was overcast but warm and there were no announcements relating to what the weather forecast was for the day. Over the course of the morning thousands of passengers took the tenders to the island.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MA

I am not sure what makes the mini-suit much better than a regular balcony cabin for the price difference. All I can see is a slightly bigger bathroom, the rest seems the same size and there are no additional amenities provided. The cabin was comfortable nonetheless.
