This was my first cruise so my opinion may need to be taken with a grain of salt. The ship seemed well maintained, common areas neat and clean. I had been warned to expect a tiny cabin but IMHO the cabin (with balcony) size was fine for my wife and I, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was dated, chips in the sink, slow shower drain. Onboard entertainment was lacking. There were so many missed marketing oppertunities for Princess. For instance, people don’t like playing games for fun, give a prize to the winner, even if it’s cheap cruise line merch. You get something for winning and the business gets some advertisement.

Being a gym rat, this area of the ship (or any vacation spot) is always an area of a concern for me. Princess did not disappoint! The fitness facility had everything needed to get in a complete workout, plenty of ellipticals and treadmills, weight machines all well maintained, plenty of free weights and a very nice “studio” area. The hot tubs were warm at best and the jets were not working on any, the only negative about this area.

And now for the worst of it, the food. I realize the masses must be catered to but I have NEVER eaten so much bland tasteless food in all my life! I know they need to make a profit but cutting back on spices and seasonings is the wrong place to do so. Apple pie should taste like apples not mystery goop with only a hint of cinnamon. I won’t even comment on what they called pizza and soft serve is NOT ice cream! Would do t kill you to serve regular hard packed ice cream? Service in the formal dinning room was slow on all 3 nights, one of which we waited 20 minutes just to get water. Courses were served to the entire section at the same time. It didn’t matter if you orderd 10 minutes before another party in your section arrived. The servers waited until the entire section had ordered. Again the same problem with the buffet hampered the formal dining room, bland food. Mind you everything was prepared properly, nothing over or under cooked but it all had NO flavor. I was hoping the speciality restaurants would be different, alas I was disappointed here as well. Service was slow even when there were all of 6 tables seated. Everything was cooked properly but it was all bland.
