This was our first "ocean" cruise with Viking (we previously did a river cruise). This company REALLY knows how to take care of their guests. They ship was just the right size and so beautiful. Our room had plenty of space and they provided binoculars, umbrella, extra bedding when requested, free snacks and drinks...I could go on and on. We definitely will use them again. The included excursions were top notch. I believe we only paid for an extra excursion in St Petersburg. We loved the difference in the various ports...small, large urban, historic, party town, etc.

Some guests had a bit of a hard time with all the uneven cobblestone, so be forewarned about the older towns. We did a LOT of walking in the ports and had no issues (all four of us in late 50s early 60s).

We appreciated that we could watch all of the port talks in our cabin and did not have to attend in person.

Port Reviews

Eidfjord

very quaint fishing village

Aalborg

we met up with our exchange student and her family here. great little walking town

Tallinn

very picturesque city with interesting history

Gdansk (Warsaw)

they had a festival going on with live music. it was crowded, but we had a blast. I would return here.

Helsinki

the rock church was really cool. my sister went to the ice bar and they were very impressed as well

Stockholm

another good walking town, but watch out, because they have several inlet's that have ships and they all kind of look alike
