Costa Deliziosa Cruise Review by meadhbh
- Sail Date: July 2017
- Destination: Mediterranean
- Cabin Type: Balcony Classic
Our only criticism of Costa is that they sent us a questionnaire after the cruise, they had told us that favourable reviews of excellent staff would improve their chances of promotion. However all the questions were "fill in the dots"and no personal input. All the staff were good but that is why I've mentioned our favourites on this site.
We didn't really take part in activities except for a couple of quizzes in the bar so I can't offer an opinion although the talent show by the crew is apparently very good.
We didn't take part in any shore excursions, preferring to make our own way, partly because the excursions were quite expensive and often a bit long. There was a fierce heat wave at our destinations and we mostly didn't stay longer than a couple of hours ashore. Back at the boat the pool was mostly empty because everyone is off the boat -good tip if you like a quiet pool.

BariBari is quite picturesque but there were pushy beggars around. We took a little train excursion for 10 euros. The train was not very comfortable. The tour included a lot of walking and waiting around which wasn't comfortable in the extreme heat + 35 c!View All 173 Bari Cruise Port Reviews

DubrovnikWe changed some money here. It was hard to figure out how much we would need but finally we took about 100 kunas each. We walked around the walls which were very impressive. It was extremely hot but there is shade here and there and also the occasional bar or drinks stall. We had to wait for about 20 minutes in a queue for the shuttle bus back to the boat. There was no shade or anywhere to sit, Costa should have organized that better.View All 1,214 Dubrovnik Cruise Port Reviews

MykonosWe took the shuttle bus into the centre of town for 10 euros p.p., we could have taken a boat for 2 euros. Mykonos was lovely, very pretty and nice people who don't try and rip you off.View All 1,082 Mykonos Cruise Port Reviews

SantoriniSantorini was somewhere I had always wanted to see. It is very pretty but extremely crowded. We were charged outrageous prices to drink at a bar with a sea view. 20 euros for a beer and a fruit juice! To return to the dock there was a queue a mile long at the cable car station so we walked down the cliff path. It took 40 min and was hot and slippery. We could have gone by donkey but I am sorry for the donkeys, they get no water or shade and have to walk up and down the mountain all day long.View All 1,017 Santorini Cruise Port Reviews
