A beautiful ship with lots of activities, restaurants, bars, swimming pools, top- cirque du soleil entertainment in a custommade theatre, nice promenade, very hard working staff BUT this ship is overcrowded during holidays, openinghours of restaurants and buffets are too short and pre-cruise booked excursions and shows has to be reconfirmed aboard, so expect to spent a half-day waiting in lines for food / drinks, reception, excursions and shows. It caused an irritated atmosphere (getting in front in lines, fights over deckbeds with people middlefingering and shouting to eachother). MSC is not always honest: they close down parts of the ship for a "private party", we ignored it and had a lovely quiet evening on the aft deck, they advertised with powerboats on their Gozo-experience and a visit to the Cominolagoon, but there was 1 powerboat and 2 normal boats with a fast engine and the lagoon was never visited (the very kind jeepdriver on Gozo compensated a lot, but others were complaining). The middeck swinmingpoolsector is a far too loud camping entertainmentarea with bingo etc, but the beautiful 3 stories aftdeck is hardly used in the evening, because the deckbeds are taken away after sunset. I feel sorry for the crew who is under immense pressure of the huge crowds on the ship. MSC has to finetune their crowdmanagement and openinghours if they want to make this ship a succes. Fun for family with kids looking for an all inclusive experience, not for 2. Take the local blue cruisebus in Barcelona (€ 4, -- pp instead of € 10 for the same trip with MSC-busses) and the train to Pompeii and book a guide overthere, it will save you a lot of money! Kidsentertainments is far too expensive (€ 10,-- for 5 minutes F1-driving, € 55,-- for a hour bowling)

Dutch family of 4 with 2 kids of 14 and 17.

Cabin Review

Cabin outside cabin

clean and even with a 4-family enough space for the purpose of just sleeping

Port Reviews

Taormina (Messina)

Messina is relaxed for a few hours walk. Lots of forestfirest during our visit with makes the air polluted.

Barcelona

Beautiful city. Don't book a MSC-excursion, but take the far cheaper blue cruisebus by the city of Barelona and book a 3 hour biketour with private guide at cruisingbarcelona.com with tips for a authentic local tapasbar, You will love it and and save a lot of money (you have to be moderate fit !).
