Chose this cruise because of the Singapore starting point and date of cruise. Embarkation was going through the usual long lines, even though we have platinum status. On the whole trip, I found no advantage for our status, except the captains reception, which has been downgraded too. The service on board is excellent, the staff very eager to please. The interior cabin on the deck twelve was nicely equipped and serviced during the entire voyage. The dining room service is excellent. The menu has been shortened, compared to our Atlantic crossing last fall on the sister ship. Breakfast in the buffet on deck sixteen was at times chaotic. It seems unable to handle the 4000 passengers. The atmosphere in the concerto dining room for breakfast was more sedate, even though at times there wore long lines to gain entrance.

Entertainment wasn't always to my liking, but that is a personal thing and I would not fault Princess for not providing entertainment for every body's taste. I did miss a little music for the pre dinner cocktails, which we ended up having in the grill bar, since the it had the most competent barman on board. Also, some bars have been eliminated and the space filled with fancy shops.

The disembarkation was the normal hang around until your color is called. But upon leaving the ship the experience went downhill fast. Standing in long lines before you get to the luggage hall. The luggage was piled heater skelter, not in color coded areas, and we had to search all around before we found our four cases. That is when the nightmare began. Somebody walked out with my suitcase and left his is identical one behind. Fortunately he had a detailed label on the case, but this was no use since he left early for a flight to Tokyo. I sent in a notice about my missing case, but up to this date have not heard back from princess. The other passenger took my case back to Texas there it remains so far. I called the person in charge of missing luggage after I came home. The only answer I got, this is not princesses fault, there is nothing that I can do, you are on your own. The person, whose case is still in Shanghai, was less fortunate. He has not heard from anybody and does not know who is in possession of his case, even with his complete address and tel number on the label. The very least I would expect, is to get a notice where the case is stored at the moment. Princess is unwilling to provide any help and the person handling missing luggage has a real attitude problem and is very snippy when called. On my next cruise I will certainly avoid Princess and try to book with superior Royal Caribbean.
