There were 9 of us on this cruise. We did a stay/park package at the Microtel in Saraland (10 minutes from the port) and were very happy with it. The parking at the port was 90$ but the hotel was only 130$ and you leave your vehicle there and they take you and pick you up. This was so convenient, and really the hotel only cost us 40$ once you factor in what would've been the cost of parking. Embarkation would've been a total cake walk, except the Coast Guard was doing a surprise inspection (which apparently doesn't happen very often) so we had to sit and wait approximately an hour for the ship to be cleared. We were in a Jr Suite so had VIP boarding, if you don't have VIP I highly recommend Faster To The Fun. It really is the only way to go.

We knew going in that this ship was the oldest and that it was small, but it was still great, you can actually get from one end to the other in no time, which is super convenient.

The one thing that stood out to everyone in our party is the exceptional service and courtesy of every employee on this ship. It blows me away how they remember everyone's name.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

The Junior Suite was great, we were the very first cabin at the front of the ship and there was a public deck about 12' from our balcony, it really wasn't that big of a deal, but I would've preferred a little more privacy. Being at the front of the ship did not seem to affect movement as compared to being middle or aft. Our room steward was great as always, he asked if we wanted service am or pm, and we said we wanted both and it was not a problem at all. The actual size of the room to me, seemed to be the same size as a regular balcony room on other Carnival ships, but the Fantasy doen't have regular balcony rooms. It's either Ocean View or Junior Suite to get a balcony, Lots of storage, we did bring a power strip and extra hangers.
