I choose this cruise because of the dates. Normally we don't do much on Memorial Day Weekend so this was perfect.
We live close by to the port so it took us about 15 minutes to get there. Once we got there everything seemed to be a like a normal check in process but unfortunately it was not. I'm not too sure if the port is under construction, however we were left standing for 2 hours to get on the ship. Every cruise that we go on typically at around 11:30 to 12 we board and go straight for lunch and get comfortable with the ship. None of the passengers were let on until 2!!!!!!. The port had no seats available hence the standing up for 2 hours and we were all hungry and exhausted. Let alone this port has no vending machine options and Carnival did not offer anything to us for the long wait.
Once we finally got on the entire cruise experience was great. The food was great and we are very picky people and not once did we complain about the food. The food in the dining didn't offer much of a variety, were not seafood eaters and one night it was a seafood only pretty much menu. The buffet in the lido was great we had several options such as two buffet areas, the deli, the pizzeria, and BBQ place on top which was very surprising (none of the ships we've been on had this). The Blue Iguana Cantina was good, we had so many options to pick from that the famous taco bowl we couldn't get around to eating, we only tried the burrito and it was good. Guys Burger Joint was excellent as always. We took advantage and ate there once everyone was off the ship and in Nassua other than that the line was always long.
