This was our 4th Carnival cruise and first time on the Conquest and at Port Everglades. Traveled with our 15 year old son who was looking forward to his Club O2 as he thoroughly enjoyed his Circle C clubs on the past cruises.

Embarkation was the usual standard fare. This was the first time we had a scheduled check-in time, but once we got there we found out that was actually just a "check-in" time and we still had to wait an hour or so to board the ship. It wasn't bad though.

Once on board, our rooms weren't ready for another hour so we got our drink packages and head up to the Lido buffet for lunch. After walking around the ship and getting to know the layout, our room was finally ready and the luggage was already there.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

We took the monkey kingdom excursion. Awful!!! Nowhere did it say there was an hour and a half bus ride to the monkey park where you spend 30 minutes before driving another hour and a half back. Terrible.
