Just got back from a 7 night Adventure of the Seas cruise. In general it was very good. Not perfect but very good. The ports were all very different and fun in their own way. Casey Pelton the cruise director was really good and for the most part the staff was friendly and professional.
Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. Were on the ship by about noon. Adventure of the Seas just went through a make over and in general was in great shape. The middle area with shops and bars was a lot of fun. We hung a lot at the Schooner Bar which had live music and good drinks. Met a bunch of fun people there.
Had a Balcony Stateroom. Our attendant Maureen was very nice and did a good job keeping the room clean. Bathroom is tiny, but functional. Bed was so so and pillows were not great. But after spending all day in the Sun, did not care too much.
Bathroom is small. Bed is ok. Pillows lousy. But after all day in the Sun and drinking at night, it was fine.
Just hopped a local bus for $2 and went to Eagle Beach. Other than the wind in Aruba (It is windy there), the beach was really nice. Just hung out and got a beach chair and floated and talked to people in the water. Had dinner in town after finding a bus back which was good. Ate at the Paddock right near the cruise ship. Fun waterfront restaurant. Great service and all you can eat ribs were very good.
Did a local excursion (people with yellow shirts). For $15 each we took a tour of the island and went to Cabana Beach. Did the Curacao Factory tour. Tour Guide Anita and driver Stanley were a lot of fun. Neat Island with really nice people.
Old San Juan is a lot of fun. Toured the fort and it was really cool.
