We took a few days before the cruise to explore Texas and Galveston before boarding the cruise - which was great. I would recommend that to all.
We flew into George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) hired a car and went touring around Texas for a few days, Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington & San Antonio before basing ourselves in Houston Hobby area prior to the cruise to visit Space Centre - if you visit on a Friday you can book such with an Astronaut - which was an amazing experience! Returned rental car to Hobby on the morning of cruise departure and took pre-organised transfer with RCI from Houston Hobby Airport to Galveston. Glad we did that as there were lengthy delays with traffic at the port and non-existent taxi service around Galveston.
This was our first experience with RCI. We cruised as part of a group who held conference on board. The initial embarkation process was disrupted as there was a technical glitch which meant hefty delays in getting onboard. I think this could have been handled better portside for awaiting passengers being held in seating at the holding area rather than having to stand in confined spaces until the technical issues were sorted.
Cabin was well tended, quite large with nice size balcony. Cabin staff very attentive. Great storage with multiple shelves, hanging spaces and almost hidden storage spaces behind cabin side mirrors.
Quiet cabin with great outlook
