We were excited to be exploring Aruba, Columbia, and the Panama Canal. We boarded our ship and checked out our room, and got even more excited because the room was of good size, clean and the steward was outgoing. Then it was time for the safety drill. We came back to drop off the live vests, and there was a very noticeable odor in our cabin. An extremely noticeable sewerage odor. The steward said he would look into it. It would come and go for another 4 days, being so bad as to wake us in the middle of the night making us ill. We called the front desk many times. We were told we were the only ones complaining, but they would look into it, other times we were told they had many calls and they were working on it. Not once was there an apology or an explanation forthcoming. Except our room steward who continually apologized for the smell at the back end of the ship.
And who doesn't look forward to eating on a cruise? Well don't get too excited, because the scallops were always over cooked. I tried 4 times, and talked to others and they were always rubbery. The only time my husband got fish that was not overcooked was when he ordered it specifically med rare. I found the only thing that they cooked halfway decent was the chicken. The chicken pot pie was fantastic. But all in all the food seemed like buffet food. Kept warm and continually cooking.
The dining staff was hit or miss. some nights they were attentive and others not so much. Not very impressive after having to wait most night about 45 minutes for a table.
Cabin was decent size for a cruise, the bed was comfortable, although several of our nights were spent sleeping in our deck chairs because we couldn't tolerate the sewerage odor in our room.
Guide was great, very informative. Very pushy vendors, in your face making it tough to enjoy at times.
Stingray, and snorkel tour. It was so much fun, and we saw so many different colorful fish
