We took the Zuiderdam transatlantic, and chose it because we had taken the same ship to the Panama Canal in 2012 and had a very good time. There wasn't a problem with embarkation or disembarkation.
We opted for a suite, and we enjoyed the cabin, but it turned out to be right outside the staging area for crew to collect all the dirty dishes on our deck. And they started collecting and chatting too early for us! I requested that they whisper until 9 am ... seems reasonable to me ...
I seem to recall more specialty restaurants than just the Pinnacle Grill, however it was quite nice. Being gluten free, however, I would strongly urge the Zuiderdam to investigate other gluten free bread companies. There are better choices. As for the activities, I would have hoped for more interesting choices (to me). The trivia was to my liking, but the times were odd - I preferred the timing on the Rotterdam. More convenient. Shore excursions? Didn't care for the choices. Ports? Nice, but due to the weather, and the short times in those ports, not as good as they could be.
Cabin was nice size, bathroom good, loved the balcony and sat out whenever the weather was good. Bad, however, was its location - right across from the noisy crew gathering dishes, and starting very early in the morning to do their work.
