Embarkation and Debarking: No problem. We got there very late in the window for each. We are local to Galveston so we uber'ed there and had family pick us up, both times we had no wait and were dropped off at door.

Complimentary Dining Lunch/Dinner: The Main Dining room was TERRIBLE. I felt like I had to sit for two hours to eat total junk. The weirdest thing was we ate in the specialty restaurants who had some of the same items on food -- things that are relatively simple and cheap, e.g. cheese ravioli, shrimp cocktail, that were delicious when you paid for them but just total junk in the main dining room. And on top of the bad food, they apparently don't actually plan on honoring your request for a table for two even though we prebooked our seating arrangement that way when we booked the cruise, we found ourselves seated at a table for four with a couple that did not even speak Engish. Fun. It took some effort but they did relocate use. Also, dumb food issues that they could have made better -- why water down salad dressing, for instance? Yuck. Or why put "Live Crepe Station", when you are really going to serve pre-made crepes stored in vat of sugar water. You get the impression that anything they had for sale, they made the free version taste REALLY REALLY bad just so you'd buy it somewhere else. We actually ate pretty well in the Windjammer (buffet style) and preferred it for dinner compared to the main dining room.

Complimentary Drinks: AWFUL. The coffee was terrible. I drink all coffee, and I am not picky. They had to try to make it this bad. Probably to force you to buy coffee at the coffee shop. Do yourself a favor, bring instant coffee to add to hot water so you don't have to subject yourself to the swill. The water situation was also awful. Again, I am assuming so they can sell you a water package? Sources of fresh water were hard to find on the ship, and in most locations could only be used with a small 4 oz plastic cup. There was no place on the ship to refill a water bottle -- they said for sanitary reasons. But if they really cared about cutting down on plastic, they'd equip the ship with bottle refilling stations which can sanitarily refill a bottle (they make these they are common at universities). The iced tea was basically brown water -- it was very concerning about how the water got so brown without a shred of tea flavor, dye?

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D3

Everything about it was perfect except the neighbors on the first night :). They were in four adjoining rooms and took down the doors between the patios and that made a lot of noise. But this was a good location, great balcony, large room. I couldn't have been happier.

Port Reviews

Galveston

Industrial, dirty, but some historic stuff. The cruise ship terminal is an empty cement floor warehouse with no AC.
