Sail Date: Mar 2017

We had the most wonderful time on this cruise. And the staff made it extra wonderful.

Each day we had breakfast and lunch in the bistro, and in the evenings we had dinner in the restaurant. Early sitting at 5:30. This timing suited us, as once finished dinner we went to the show and were back in our cabin by about 9.

There was quite a lot of variety in the bistro - from asian, to grills (different pies, different types of sausages, chips, and other stuff. Then there was Fresh Eats with cold meat, different cheeses and salads to choose from. Sweets were varied and very nice.

Cabin Review

Cabin 8J BALCONY

Cabin was great. It had everything we could possibly need. Bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. Very clean as was the bathroom. Shampoo and body gel provided and my hair loved the shampoo. Just wish I knew what brand it was.

Our balcony was larger than normal as we had been upgraded. It had two chairs and a small table which is all we needed.

Port Reviews

Isle of Pines (New Caledonia)

We didn't take an organised tour of the Isle of Pines. Just went off the ship and walked around. Extremely hot, but beautiful waters.

Noumea

Once docked at Noumea, there were shuttle buses to take us to the visitor's centre. You could book tours from there if not booked from the ship.

We booked the Hop On Hop Off bus - this is the best bus company to get as you are tracked the whole time and if something happens the ship will wait for you. It was $20 each.

There were eight stops on the tour - from memory there was a shopping centre, museum, library, aquarium, Lemon Beach, markets and I forget the rest. My knees didn't hold up to getting on and off the bus, so we only got off once at a shopping centre. It was certainly not what were expecting. Very small compared to ours back home in NSW. Had a quick look around and waited for the next Hop On Hop off bus to pick us up. After that we stayed in the air conditioned bus and enjoyed being cool as we were driven around. Did we think it was worth it? Mmmm. It was quite interesting looking around, but the biggest impression I actually got from Noumea was all the graffiti.
