Our community card group does an annual cruise and this year selected the Oasis which I was anxious to try because I wanted to see if it was appropriate for a family cruise. We really liked the ship but it is really big. It was reported to be fully booked but never seemed crowded on our tRip. Everyone enjoyed the cruise. However, that being said, another group from our community was on the same itinerary a few weeks before our cruise and all vowed they would never sail the Oasis again. It seemed there was a very large group from overseas and Brooklyn that literally took over the ship. There were no areas available for cards or anything else. People sat on the steps during the shows certainly a safety concern. Kids ran up and down the corridors after midnight to 2: 30 in the morning yelling and banging on doors. All floor buttons were pressed on elevators for two days. Of course, no lounge chairs were available at the pools. What upset our friends was that nothing was being done by security despite their complaints. They were truly disgusted with security for not taking any action and for staff members ignoring bad behavior and disregard of ship rules.

We had none of that on our cruise! The kids on our cruise were well behaved . There were plenty of rooms and lounges available. . People followed ship rules regarding entertainment tickets ( be sure to reserve these tickets on your check in site before you go and as early as possible. They are free.)

The only ship rule we saw broken were in regards to dress at dinner in the main dining room where guest wore very short shorts and other casual wear and were not stopped. However, I have seen this on Princess and Celebrity in two recent European cruises so I think the dress code has been greatly compromised on all lines which is a shame since there are other restaurants for those who want to dress casually.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D6

Our cabin was very nice. It was clean and beds were very comfortable. The only reason I gave it four stars was because many of the storage bins were opened and tiny. I also like drawers on the nightstands but this was again open shelves. The cabin location was excellent as we were about equal distance from both elevator areas. Therefore, it didn't seem we were walking as much as our friends near either end of the ship. I am prone to seasickness but this cabin was very stable. The balcony is the tiniest balcony we have ever had but it was fine for two of us but certainly not any more. That would be a negative for a family cruise if you Ike to gather on the balcony..Even with connecting rooms and the barrier between the balconies opened, it would be too small for six adults or seven mixed

ages.

Port Reviews

Falmouth

After being in FalmoutH many times, we just walk around and shop at the port stores and then head to a Señor Frogs for some fun. Unfortunately, it was overcrowded this time but we still managed to have a lot of fun.
