I have never been to the Caribbean, and after an exceptional Viking River cruise experience in Europe wanted to try the Viking Ocean Cruises. I was not disappointed. The high level of service was not intrusive. I was able to enjoy the 9 ports and experience the islands while being happily and expertly serviced by the entire staff, including housekeeping, tour guides, and yes, even the captain who was not hidden away but very visible and excited to be the master of this wonderfully designed ship. The excursion logistics made leaving and boarding the ship easy and very quick - you just left the ship and joined up with your small group within minutes. There was no tiring wait time. Free seating dining was one sitting from 6p to 9:30p and you had a choice of being alone or sharing with others. The two (no extra charge) specialty restaurants had excellent service. Food in all restaurants and poolside bars were tasty and expertly prepared. I have two more cruises booked on Viking within the next year - one to the Baltic and the other to Panama.

The housekeeping staff kept an eye out and cleaned and cleaned the room whenever we left and were not there, sometimes within minutes! The service was exceptional and the room design is comfortable.
