I chose this cruise because I could drive to the port. Stayed overnight at the Hilton Garden Inn in Ridgefield NJ.. They provide transportation to and back from the cruise terminal along with allowing you to park your car there for the cruise duration. They are the only hotel that I found that provide this type of service in the area. So for the price of $250-you get to park for a week get transport to the port and back, plus free wifi and a wonderful breakfast the next a.m..

I found the cruise to be exactly what I expected - a break in the middle of the winter. I have been on this same cruise twice and still have not seen the entire ship. So many things to do.... Attended all the shows- Rock of Ages, Burn the Floor, and the Cirque Jungle Fantasy- all excellent shows and must sees. Cirque costs extra $$ but if you have a dining package it's only $12-regular $40. They have a lot of gambling activities during the day: bingo, lotto, casino, game show games for which you can buy tickets, etc.-did not participate in these. Also many sales from the shops and the inevitable art auctions-again did not participate in these. Did the ropes course-walked the plank, but didn't get time to do the multiple water slides or play mini golf. So I guess I'll have to go again :)

SPA

Cabin Review

Spa Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B9

The spa balcony included access to the thermal suite which is divine on the Breakaway. There were no other perks other than proximity to the spa with the spa balcony room. This particular room is quite noisy. Overhead there are the ping pong tables outside the spa next to the main adult pool.. However it does have an expanded triangular balcony due to being on the "hump" of the ship. I probably would not choose this room again due to the noise. But it did get me up early -you can sleep when you're dead :)

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Port Canaveral-you are only there a very short time, so it's really not worth going to any of the Disney sites or the Kennedy Space Center. Did go to a nice little restaurant/bar on Cocoa Beach called the Sandbar- awesome fish tacos and buckets of hurricanes-yes a bucket about the size of a citronella candle bucket but a bucket nonetheless.

Great Stirrup Cay

I love there island -Great Stirrup Cay. So many things to do or just enjoy the water and the sun. Great place to get that burn you've been hankering for in the far reaches of the North :) Your beverage package can be used at all the bars on the island and they have a new taco stand as well as the usual buffet there.

Nassau

A great place to get off and have a wander around, but like the spa you have to be good at saying "No." Many shore excursions to choose from-snorkeling, sailing, etc. It's like a typical Caribbean port.
