We picked this cruise mainly due to the destinations. It was our intent to scuba dive and we wanted the particular ports that this cruise offered. We also wanted to use RCCL from feedback from other cruisers and because my wife sailed on the Freedom Of The Seas a couple of years ago and loved it. We used the RCCL excursions for scuba diving in Roatan and Cozumel. Both dive outfits were great but the company in Cozumel stuck out as being extremely professional. Being a beginner diver and this our first drift diving I was nervous about the currents. The dive masters kept our groups down to four divers per dive master which was awesome. I've read a lot of negative stuff about using the cruise line shore excursions but for diving we couldn't find any lower prices.

The ship itself was clean and well attended. The crew seemed happy and eager to help. Taking the time to ask the staff about their personal lives would make them light up and help even more. One of my favorite parts of the cruise was meeting the staff and hearing out their lives back home. They all admitted that it was a grind having to work so much but all of them we spoke to loved being on the ship and their jobs. The specialty restaurant experiences were amazing and stood out when compared to the main dining room. Sabor ended up our favorite which we ate at twice. We only ate in the main room twice with one of the experiences being not so good. The food was fine but we got a waiter who was clearly having a bad day. The only real issue we had was room service for breakfast not showing up in time for one of our shore days. I can't say that I'm an experienced cruiser but it seems to me that you would really have to work at not having a good time on the Liberty. There is a huge selection of food and entertainment for everyone. I can't wait to go back.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

We had a wonderful balcony cabin just after the main aft elevator hump. The location was perfect for getting around the ship. Our attendant was great and he would take the time to answer any questions. The room was clean and we lacked for nothing.

Port Reviews

Galveston

First cruise but the port seemed to be a mess. Long lines and a lack of clear directions on where to go.

Belize City

We didn't leave the ship due to this being a tendered port but the water was a wonderful light blue color and it looked wonderful.
