Departure was so easy. Weather was perfect the entire cruise so we had smooth sailing. There were some wonderful aspects of this cruise. We cruise every year from NJ, so easy for us. The ship itself is beautiful. Our cabin, veranda on deck 8 midship was lovely and our cabin steward was friendly and did an excellent job.
The three main shows were OK but we had seen them before since RC keeps the same big shows for 3-5 years. The guest entertainers were excellent. Music Hall special events were fun. Daytime sea days we did the morning Latin fitness classes..such fun! We did miss the guest speakers they used to have...didn't want to hear shopping tips or spa treatments sales pitches.
Food in the Windjammer was always good as was Two 70 for lunch. For breakfast we enjoyed the fresh crepes, egg station and pancakes being made on the spot. We did enjoy making our own salads in Two70, though a low cal dressing option would have been good. U fortunately our evening dining was not good. We,seven of us, were in the Grand, late seating...our table all the way at the end. Our waiter and assistant were both new. Food came out cold and orders were mixed up. They served half the table while others had to wait. Food was oversalted. Most fish came out dry. Ribs, onion soup and classic menu salmon were good. We requested a table change but they kept telling us they were working with our wait staff and it would get better...never did!.Prime rib was fatty, clam with linguine was served with a closed clam, lobster bisque was awful, etc. we were offered a dinner in Wonderland to compensate but it was on Super Bowl Sunday so some did not go.
Cabin was clean with enough storage. Glad they removed the liquor from the fridge so we could use it for our water, strawberries, etc.
We did take some excursions. We do NOT recommend the Tall Ships in St Martin. Not as described! Others were OK
