After taking 19 cruises on every cruise line but Holland America, we needed a change. We had stayed away from Holland America because we heard it was for an older crowd. Now that my wife and I are both 65 we thought we would fit in. The truth is, although the majority of passengers were in their 60s, many were younger ( some with children) and some older. But as they say, age is just a number.

This ship was as lively and fun loving as some of the Royal Caribbean and Carnival ships we have been on. However, what this ship has is a real classic sophisticated touch, without being stuffy. The service and food were the best we have ever experienced. The entertainment in way of music, lectures, and demonstrations was superb.

We have never experienced anything as great as BB Kings Blues Club at sea. What a great idea!!! Their World Stage, instead of a traditional theatre, surrounded by 180 degrees of LED screens is an unbelievable experience. My advise to anyone who loves cruising, regardless of your age, is: you have never experienced a truly great cruise until you have sailed on Holland America's Koningsdam!

Cabin Review

Verandah Stateroom

Cabin V

Modern and beautifully designed. Plenty of storage space and room. The best shower on the high seas.
