My wife and I are 3 stars with HAL and we booked this cruise earlier this year as short nice vacation by ourselves. We booked an aft facing veranda on deck 6 with Club Orange added and the standard HIA. This is our first cruise on a Pinnacle class ship. We flew from our home in San Antonio to San Diego on Nov 3rd and spent the night at the Embassy Suites on the bay very close to the cruise port ...
Wanted to see Hawaii. Twice we requested wake up calls and did not receive.Holland web site advertises Dutch Cafe 16 Dutch and Belgium beers with 4 on tap. DID NOT HAVE. Met with beverage manager his answer was they were ordered but not sent. Hard to believe a company as big as CARNIVAL{who owns holland} can't get what they order covid is over.
Food variety at Lido dining poor.Taramand fee ...
We chose this cruise because our 45th anniversary would be celebrated while onboard, as well as the fact that we live close to the cruise port and would not have to fly prior to or after the cruise. We had the HIA package and booked our specialty dinners prior to sailing, as well as booking our shore excursions before sailing so we were ensured of them not selling out before we got onboard. I also ...
We really enjoyed our cruise, the destination was fantastic, we enjoyed all the Ports. Alaska was very pretty and absolutely fascinating. The ship was lovely and well looked after with many good communal areas. We had a Vista Suite which we were very happy with; good sized room and balcony and very comfortable. The experience in the main dining room was very positive; very good food and choice as ...
This is the second time we've cruised with Holland America (The first being in 2014 on the Niew Amsterdam) as a large family group. We had 22 family members on board this time around and 6 kids ranging from 3 to 11.
We really enjoyed our cruise and thought the crew went above and beyond for us as a family. They always acknowledged our kids and did little things to make their experience extra ...
We wanted something different and sailing on The Koningsdam certainly filled the bill.
From joining the ship in Vancouver, to disembarking there the following week, we had the most relaxing but fun filled time
My stateroom on the sundeck was exceptional, as was the service from Ho Ho and Jo Jo,my stewards and Ana in laundry
I ate breakfast mainly in The Lido or at the poolside bar , ...
This cruise was wonderful in every aspect. The food and service were exceptional in the Lido market, the scenery was magnificent, seeing whales and sea otters magical, and there were places to find early in the morning to be alone and take photos of the sunrise. We went on the Tracy Arm inlet excursion and it was breathtaking. We also took the train out of Skagway which I highly recommend. The ...
I choose the cruise because the Casino paid for my room. I upgraded to an Obstructed View Veranda. It was not that bad of an obstructed view but may go a floor higher next time. I met some great people aboard and the excursions were a lot of fun. I felt the Dinning Room lacked some of the great service I have had from previous cruises. They did not present well and a few times got my order ...
The ship is beautiful but when you first board onto the ship it's very new to everyone. Your welcomed into restaurants that have the fees and expenses and your not advised. They ask for cards and not tell you that the restaurants have additional prices. Things can add up very fast when you're unaware if it's on your package or not.
When you have elderly and if your elderly are not in a ...
One of my bucket list items was to visit Alaska. Plus I have visited 49 of the U.S. State Capitol buildings as kind of a hobby, so Juneau was intriguing. My older sister (71, wheelchair bound amputee) suggested in fall of 2022 for myself, her, and our other brother and his wife to do an Alaska cruise. So I researched them and we were torn between going in Aug or Sep 2023. Aug is rainiest, and ...
