We needed a relaxing getaway. The ship was our resort. While we did get off the ship a few times to "stretch our legs", it was only for about an hour and we stayed in the port areas.
Food and service in the main dining room was outstanding! The best we have had in recent years. I was concerned we might be disappointed because our last two Celebrity cruises were in Aqua Class cabins and we dined in Blu. No problem. We enjoyed the ease of the buffet at lunch. My goodness, Celebrity still makes the best bread products at see. And wonderfully, the coffee has improved dramatically over the past 20 years.
My husband got the Persian Garden Pass. He always enjoys it. I went to the gym one whole time (!) but it was great. I got the unlimited internet package. I was happy to have it. Sometimes I had difficulty connecting, but mostly it was fine. Even did some Facetime/Skype communication with family. It is wonderful how they have improved speed.
Cabin was in a great location for access to everything on the ship. We were next to the "pantry", which is a working area. Perhaps if we chose a cabin like this in the future, we would get the one next door. There was some overnight noise from the pantry, but not too bad at all. We did have noise issues with a neighbor who chose to turn on their TV between 1 and 3 am and leave it on overnight. A few nights it was pretty loud. Interestingly, you couldn't really hear it in our hall, so it was hard to get motivated to go around checking cabins behind us (opposite side of ship), above us and below us. Earplugs enabled us to get back to sleep. This cabin was also well positioned to minimize ship motion. It was a successful experiment to see if we could enjoy an inside cabin after having outsides, balconies, aquaclass, etc. on more recent cruises. It worked fine. We slept well with the more complete darkness. The bed was comfortable and the size was larger than we remembered (but our last inside cabin was on an older ship). Don't know if all inside cabins are the same size. We asked a couple of cabin stewards but got different responses. Great shower. No sofa in our cabin, two chairs.
We stayed at the Residence Inn Airport/Cruise this time. Worked out great. Used their shuttle ($8 per person one way) to the cruise port.
