Cabin: Interior Stateroom with Virtual Balcony

The ship is fairly new so everything is in good working condition, clean and looks well. It is big, good and bad. Good is very stable during cruising. Bad is the long walk between the front and back ends where the theater and restaurants are. The lifts are very big too but the more people it holds, the more stops it will make. So better take the stairs if travel 2-3 levels to save time.

There are some innovative facilities on board. But we only tried the North Star. It is not particularly exciting experience. Just a bit higher view.

There are many shops, but mostly are the high priced ones.

Cabin Review

Interior Stateroom with Virtual Balcony

Cabin V3

Small. Just don't want to stay inside unless sleeping.

Low ceiling.

The bed directly faces the door. No space for luggage. The luggage has to be placed on floor which blocks the access, or to be put under the bed - very inconvenient.

Only provide Shampoo in the bathroom, no shower gel, or is it supposed that liquid is for both purposes???

Cannot hear the ship broadcast inside cabin. Have to open door to hear the broadcast - so ridiculous!!

The fridge is not cold, useless.

Not many selection on TV channels. The Sky channels always repeat the contents..

Some good points:

- Built-in USB charger available- so just bring the charging cable,

- virtual balcony view is innovative, though not environmental friendly

- Suction toilet, like that on the flight. Very strong force to clear everything.

- can check online account on TV

- quiet, basically cannot hear the engine noise.

Port Reviews

Hobart

Free Wifi from Telstra payphone booths in many locations, also at the pier.

The Tasmanian museum is just 10 minutes walking distance away from the ship. Don't miss it. In particular, the Tasmanian Tiger is must see. You can easily spend 2-3 hours there. And it is free of charge too.

The Maritime museum requires $10 admission fee. We skipped.

The Parliament House is also worth a look.

If you pass the Town Hall, take a look the ballroom at First Floor.

Lastly, take some real fresh Tasmanian Oysters from the takeaway shops near the pier before going back to the ship.
