We are HAL fans. It is true this is an older crowd in general but we can deal with mobility aids in our fellow passengers better than hordes of kids and drunk teenagers. That being said, we have always had good service with HAL but this was stellar. Will definitely repeat this ship. What made it outstanding:
The food. For those of us who have cruised for years, when the economy tanked, the food quality suffered. This cruise was like it used to be. Instead of the shrimp that we would descr4ibe as "fetal" in size, we were served big, beautiful shrimp and lobster tails. The beef was excellent. We loved all the soups. Service, while always good on HAL, was outstanding. Our waiters were Yahya and Lala. We went with their recommendations each night and were happy every night. Wonderful.
Our stateroom experience: Our cabin attendants were Putu, "Tu" and Budi. They seemed to read our minds. Everything was ready and waiting for us any time we showed up. How these guys did this with so many rooms to keep up is amazing. They were always smiling and relaxed. Amazing.
Perfect
Always our favorite stop. There are two new features: Their is a lobster shack. For $22 you can get a Florida lobster with rice, beans and sofrito. Also, their is a new system for returning to the ship. It is a new, covered area with tables and chairs to wait for the tender. Nice!
Our favorite place to shop in the Carribbean. Try to get away from the port a little for better prices and more authentic items.
Always a funky place to walk.
7 mile beach is awesome.
Easy disembarkation
