I came back to Holland after my experience on the Regal Princess. Holland has always been my favorite but she would be priced somewhat higher for balconies because she has fewer that other cruise lines. One thing you could always depend on was the service and the food. I am now traveling alone since loosing my husband.
This ship had many single cruisers traveling alone. The cruise line gave a luncheon for single cruisers and I met many many people who shared my cruise with me. I have never seen that before on any cruise I have been on. It can be daunting traveling alone. I did not have one minute of concern the entire time.
I spent my 41 and 42 back to back cruises on the Zaandam out of San Diego. The checkin was flawless. I was concerned about my cabin 1808 that had been reviewed badly. I loved my cabin. Had two side by side pot holes and I divided my bed so I could walk up to the window and look out. Even had some feather friends take naps in my port holes along the way. That just tickled me to death.
stayed at the Coronado Del the night before meeting the ship. A beautiful experience in itself.
Shopping!!!
Not cheap on jewelry.
Up in the mountains of Mexico. Very nice bus trip.
Walked into town which was not far off the ship to the old train station and ordered steak. You have not eaten steak until you taste the steak here.
