Embarkation in Civitavecchiar Italy was painless and quick. Upon entering the ship, which we were handed champagne we were also greeted by many "welcome back" by the some of the staff who remembered us from our last sail on the Journey in April.
First stop Sorrento, which we easily made after the Captain announced that other ships were docking in Naples because they couldn't come in. Sorrento, Taomino, Chania were all tender ports. No problems at all with the tender boats, very quick and efficient.
Two days in Agaba, Jordan, with the first night being the "Azamazing Evening." The idea and execution of getting the entire ship to a remote desert location went extremely well. We were greeted with wine or soft drinks along with some "nibbles". The entertainment put on by the Boudin's was nice, it just needed to be varied. It was 2 hours of watching the dancers do basically the same dance to basically the same tunes. I think most of us anticipated that we watch a variety of men and women dancers. We were handed pieces of homemade bread as we watched the women in the front make this bread throughout the evening. The setting was beautiful under the stars in the dessert and upon our return to the ship were greeted with champagne and music very nice touch that Azamara is known for.
We took the train to Herculean ruins on our own.
Spent two days prior to the cruise in Rome, did not tour Civitavecchia.
