I had a wonderful surprise not long after embarkation - my husband had secretly booked our two daughters onto the cruise! They'd all kept it a secret from me for months! They came into the cabin and it was the most fabulous surprise.

We all had generously sized balconies on C Deck. They were much bigger than balconies we have had on previous cruises on both Cunard and P&O. So we all had a little champagne sail away with the two bottles that my husband had brought on board.

Embarkation itself went well. We'd arrived a lot earlier than advised (3:30 pm), reason being we had a long way to come and didn't want to take any chances. On a previous occasion, in April, we'd had a nightmare of a journey and had only arrived at the docks at 4:30 pm. I'd actually had the paperwork out, with the phone number to ring to say we were going to be late, that time. We didn't want to risk that again.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin JC

Spotless. Steward very obliging. Balcony was huge. We had some shade and shelter and some full sun. It was great.

TV's need updating to flat screen and general updating of decor.

Beds a little firm for my taste but tastes vary.

Great to have tea and coffee making facilities in the cabin.

Would rather have a shower screen than a curtain.
