Actually the cruise was better than expected. First time with Viking, had three cruises with Uni-world, was better in some ways. Russia was very much like a German river cruise we had experienced. Just beautiful! The staff was what made it .Russian history and culture was a real experience. The shore excursions especially the Ballet, Russian dancing and the "vodka" were something I like to do again. If you like the experience of sailing down a river with the wind in your hair and a glass of wine in your hand, this for you. The Russian staff were super nice.Russia turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Going to a Russian market and trying all the different food items was a real treat. Later the Ship's crew surprised us with a lunch using the fresh food from that market. I bought the video of the trip, its worth the price.
